After Şişli Terakki High School, Saffet Emre Tonguç attended Boğaziçi University, where he studied Tourism and Hotel Management as well as Political Science and International Relations. Then, he completed his master’s degree in Boğaziçi University’s Ottoman Social History program. He conducted doctoral research on business at Vienna University of Economics and Business.

Due to his professional and personal interests, he has traveled to nearly 150 countries and visited more than 1,400 cities. The photos he took during his travels have been published in various countries, including the United States and Australia, in magazines and websites since 1990.

Since 2004, he has been writing for Hürriyet Seyahat. He is also among the writers of Istanbul Life and Skylife magazines. In addition to his work as a writer, professional speaker, and TV presenter, he continues to provide professional guidance by organizing tours to special routes that combine his sense of exploration with tourism.
