About Tour
It is a matter of perspective whether The Serenissima, the City of Venice was the most Oriental European city of its time or the most European of the Oriental cities.
But it was without a doubt one of the most safeguarded cities in the world. Save for a couple of new buildings, the sea breeze has been hitting the same walls and the rain has been washing the same stone roads for the last three hundred years.
This route is what you are looking for if you only have a couple of hours to spend in Venice. I, Guido Lion will tell you the hundred years old stories of my hometown as we explore the city together! We will be exploring the heart of the city, San Marco square, and its vicinity. We will visit the gorgeous San Marco Cathedral, built by the sea-merchant Venetians with the construction materials they had gathered from all around the world like the pieces of a spectacular puzzle. We will walk upon the bridge between a palace and a prison: Bridge of Sighs. They say that Casanova, the infamous womanizer tiptoed on this bridge after escaping the jail. His destiny was about to be changed into one of fame and fortune.
Who knows what our destiny hides from us? Let’s embark on an adventure on the Floating City of Venice!
